Today, I am going to let everyone in on a little secret. A couple of months ago I applied for a program at UK called '4-paws for ability'. 4-paws allows volunteers to temporarily train a service dog. If you didn't know, I am a sucker for a puppy! Therefore, this program is perfect for me. I get a puppy and to help a good cause at the same time.
Not many people know about me applying for the simple reason that why tell until I'm accepted? Well, I'm still not technically 'accepted' but I got an e-mail today that brought me one step closer. I hope by telling you all this it doesn't jenx me ;) but I have an interview the week we get back from Christmas Break. That'll make a girl wanna rush back to school, right? In my case yes. My mom is even excited about it and she has definitely never been an advocate of me getting a dog at such a young age. She tries to talk me out of it by saying that big dogs have big poop, as if I didn't know that. Thus far, she's been unsuccessful in deterring me and I think she secretly knows that. But ....
So, wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed. And, if you do that for me I promise to overwhelm you all with lots of adorable pictures in the future.
Until then ..

I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW!!! i am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping and praying for you right now!!! keep us posted!!! do they train you to train the dog if you are accepted? because seriously this is an interest of mine as well!!!
ReplyDeleteMackenzie, yes they do! You have to go to a certain number of meetings per month I believe and they teach things that you should be training the dogs.
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely apply next time. You would be good at it :) They now have a puppy and adult dog program. The puppies are literally puppies where you basic and potty train them. The adults are 5-6 weeks old and are more advance and already potty trained. It seems like a lot of fun!
Thanks for keeping those fingers crossed ;)
I'm not going to lie. When I saw the title of this post I was expecting to see a picture of a cute puppy face underneath it! I didn't realize it would take so long to find out! I bet you are anxious. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI WISH, it was a picture of a cute puppy underneath that belonged to me :) And, I was supposed to know earlier but they had apparently a lot more than usual applicants so it has taken longer.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I am! My mom was like well .. just bring it here over break. I said well I don't have it yet but if you want a new dog you'll have to buy one.
